Hi!

I’m Ali; a mother of two, a pastor’s wife and the owner and teacher of Twinkle Tots Playschool. 

I initially studied psychology, and it was during my play therapy practical that I discovered my interest in Early Childhood Development. After completing my psychology degree in 2008, I obtained qualifications in preschool education (both Edu-care and Montessori) and went on to pursue a career in teaching.

In the past, I worked as a pre-school teacher at both Hamilton House Playschool and King’s School and as a Grade R teacher’s assistant at Monte Vista Primary School.  I enjoyed working in these environments and gained valuable teaching experience along the way. 

However, as time went by, I developed a strong desire to start my own playschool, especially after staying home with my own kids while they were little, which gave me a passion to create the same kind of homely environment for other children before they start at ‘big school’.

In 2019, my dream became a reality and Twinkle Tots opened its doors for the first time. I love running a playgroup from home, and I can honestly say that child care isn’t just a job for me – it’s a passion, it’s a part of who I am!
